A single practice result can tell you what happened today. It does not tell you everything about your child as a maths learner. Children have tired days, rushed days and days where one word in a question changes the whole result.
Look for repeated patterns
If the same topic is difficult across several sessions, it may need support. If a result dips once and then recovers, the child may simply have needed another exposure.
- Notice which topic comes up more than once.
- Check whether mistakes happen at the start or near the end.
- Ask your child to explain one missed question calmly.
- Share repeated patterns with the teacher if you are unsure.
Ask "what did this question want you to do?" before asking "what answer did you get?"
